Old-school video game technology is reborn as a musical mechanism at Micropalooza, Portland’s only annual chiptune festival! Held at Ground Kontrol since 2003, Micropalooza 2011 will feature favorite artists from the Pacific Northwestand beyond at both the Jupiter Hotel and Ground Kontrol Classic Arcade.
Presented by A Jumps B Shoots, Jupiter Hotel and Ground Kontrol Classic Arcade, Micropalooza 2011 will debut a new format – an all-ages show in Jupiter Hotel’s covered outdoor patio and a 21+ show in Ground Kontrol’s lounge. Artists Mechlo and the Bad Bits (Portland/Bend), Chipocrite (Philadelphia, PA), Plain Flavored (Portland), Spamtron (Portland), Ovenrake (Puyallup, WA), Operation Mission (Portland) and Andreas (Portland) will pump pixelated pop and deconstructed dance music all day and all night to Portland’s ever-growing number of chiptune fans.
All-ages are welcome at the Jupiter Hotel show (2pm-6pm), and those 21 and older are invited to the Ground Kontrol show (7pm-11pm) as well!
Advance tickets are on sale now for the all-day, all-night event at the Micropalooza website, along with a full schedule and more information on the performers (including sound and video clips): http://micropalooza.groundkontrol.com
