Ground Kontrol and Dog Soccer Entertainment are proud to introduce a new quarterly series for tournament pinball players! The GK Quarterly Progressive Challenge will begin qualifiers for Q1 on Monday, January 12th, running through Tuesday, March 31st! The progressive challenge payout will be earned at the April GK Stern Army tournament on Wednesday, April 8th.
QUALIFYING
At each GK tournament, players will pay the entry fee associated with one of the following tournaments (typically $5):
2nd Monday Tournament 2nd Wednesday (Stern Army) Tournament 3rd Wednesday Tournament 3rd Thursday (GLB!) Women’s Tournament Last Tuesday Tournament
$1 of each player’s open entry fee will go to the progressive pot for a single tournament in the following month of quarter-end. The remaining entry fee will go to the cash prize pool for the evening.
Players who attend the eligible number of quarterly tournaments will qualify for the progressive challenge pot. Based on the monthly tournaments planned during the 1st quarter of 2026, players must attend *6 of 15* GK tournaments to be eligible for the progressive pot (note: subsequent quarterly attendance subject to change).
QUARTERLY PROGRESSIVE POT PAYOUTSPayouts for the eligible players will be planned for the following GK tournaments:
Q1, April: 2nd Wednesday (4/8)
Q2, July: 2nd Monday (7/13)
Q3, October: 3rd Wednesday (10/21)
Q4, January 2027: Last Tuesday (1/26)
All players are welcome to play in these tournaments, whether they are eligible for the progressive challenge pot or not. The tournament will be treated as a standard tournament, with the exception of the payouts.
Players eligible for the payout will get allocations of the progressive pot based on their finishing order against each other:
1st open player: 35%
2nd open player: 20%
3rd open player: 10%
4th open player: 5%
1st B division player: 15%
2nd B division player: 10%
3rd B division player: 5%
B eligible players may win open prizes, but will only be paid out from 1 of the payouts. B eligibility will be determined by pinballpdx and/or matchplay ratings at the end of the qualifying period (ex: Q1, 3/31).
Payouts from the standard tournament prize pool will be available for all players at the tournament.
