NWPAS Satellite Pinball Tournament: South By Northwest

Category: Tournament

The South By NorthWest pinball tournament returns once again, to the 2022 Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show satellite even series!
Ground Kontrol provides you an opportunity to win weekend passes and/or Tournament entry package for the Show in Tacoma, June 3-June 5.

Entry is just $10. At least one-in-six will win an Prize Package for NWPAS 2022.

One key change of the satellite tournament prizes this year is that not all prizes will include BOTH a weekend pass and tournament entry package. This is unavoidable due to main show pass price increase and to keep the satellite event entry at $10

Minimum FOUR prizes per Satellite Tournament, 1st Place is Plaque + NWPAS Weekend pass only ($150 value), 2nd place is a NWPAS Weekend pass only ($150 value) and 3rd place tournament entry prize package only ($60-95 value).
The fourth prize, a tournament entry package is guaranteed for the top finishing Rookie & Amateur
Additional tournament entry prize for every 6 additional players starting at 30 (30 players = 5 total prizes; 36 players = 6 total prizes, etc.).

There will be raffle prizes from our sponsors, for even more winners!

The tournament series also offers a win guarantee. So if you play in at least 6 of the satellite tournaments, and you don’t win any prizes, then we’ll GIVE you a tournament entry package prize ($60-95 value), for your support and participation of the tournament series.

Please note that listed time is the START TIME. Registration closes approximately 10 minutes before listed time; earlier if it fills up.

This will be a Fair Strike group knockout tournament in which players are arranged in groups of 4 when possible, but occasionally groups of 3, and with five or less players remaining, possibly group of 2.
Similar to 3-Strike Knockout, except for how strikes are awarded:
• A player continues to play until they get 6 (or more) strikes, at which time they are eliminated.
• Winner of the game does not get a strike.
• Loser of the game gets two strikes. This would be 4th in a 4-player game, 3rd in a 3-player game, or 2nd in a 2-player game.
• A player who neither wins nor loses gets 1 strike. This would be both 2nd and 3rd in a 4-player game, and 2nd in a 3-player game.

Once all players remaining have won packages, the tournament ends. Final placement is based on number of strikes each player has, with ties for equal strikes. Refer to the NWPAS Website, http://nwpas.wapinball.net/satellite.html, for full details and official rules. This tournament is IFPA sanctioned.
